Beyond waste management, milk powder, and cooking oil, Dutch culture is also an excellent export the Netherlands has to offer. If you didn’t know, the Hong Kong Philharmonic’s Maestro music director, Jaap van Zweden, also hails from the nation that has given the world Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and the Oranje (the Dutch national football team).
This November, the world-renowned North Sea Jazz Festival will become the latest Dutch culture export in Hong Kong since the rubber duck.
The North Sea jazz festival has grown over 40 years to become one of the biggest festivals in Europe. The three day event, from November 14-16, will mark the festival’s debut in Asia. A mix of some of the biggest names in today’s international and local jazz scene will grace three outdoor stages on Hong Kong Island’s new Central harbourfront.
