New Chairman for the Bar Association and new Legal Adviser for the LegCo Secretariat.

New Chairman for the Bar Association

Paul Shieh (石永泰) SC stepped down from being the Chairman of the Hong Kong Bar Association after completing a two-year term. His recent speech at the ceremonial opening of the 2015 legal year has put him at the spotlight after he accused the Government of twisting the meaning of the rule of law. (Ed. Note – read the full speech.  It’s worth your time).

Replacing Shieh is Winnie Tam (譚允芝) SC. Ms Tam specialises in intellectual property and has been with Des Voeux Chambers since 1999.
