MTR had a new CEO this week and the Government created a Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food.

 

First local to be appointed as MTR chief.

Acting CEO of the MTR Corporation Mr Lincoln Leong (梁國權) became the CEO of the railway/property giant starting from March 16th for three years. Leong is the first local to hold the post as well as the first CEO promoted internally.


Bernard Chan to head Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food.

ExCo member Mr Bernard Chan (陳智思) has been appointed as Chairperson of the newly established Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food. Dr Mak Sin-ping (麥倩屏), the first Controller of the Centre for Food Safety, has been named Vice-chairperson.

Appointments to the Liaison Office in Macao.

Mr Sun Da (孫達) and Mr Zheng Zhentao (鄭振濤) have been named Vice Directors of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR. Sun was originally the Liaison Office’s Secretary-general while Zheng was the Secretary of Shaoguan Municipal Committee.


Appointments to the Directorate Committee.

The Government has appointed Mr Pang Yiu-kai (彭耀佳), Chairman of the HK General Chamber of Commerce and CEO of HK Land Holdings Ltd., to head the Standing Committee on Directorate Salaries and Conditions of Service for a term of two years from 1st April.
