A small group of protesters gathered to “welcome” Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying (CY) in Toronto on Sunday (7th June, 2015), where he was attending the “think Asia, think Hong Kong” trade event.

While CY was giving his speech during the opening ceremony at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, protesters from the Hong Kong- Canada Alliance were blocked by security from delivering a public letter to Leung. The protesters remained outside the hotel , calling for genuine universal suffrage for Hong Kong and asked the Hong Kong government to adhere to the “One Country, Two Systems” principle.

Protesters were quoted by the media saying, “We want Canadians to know that this person is a liar, and they should be careful when they do business with him.”
