It’s a two-way traffic – here comes one from EU, and there goes one in return. Dr Jolita Pons succeeds Mr Asad Beg as Head of Political, Press and Information Section at the European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao. She previously served as Desk Officer, China, Hong Kong, Macao of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Marine (Special Duties) Ms Shirley Lam Shuet-lai (林雪麗) will become the next Special Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the EU starting from October 5, 2015. Lam, 47, was in Brussels once when she worked at the HKETO there. She was also Deputy Secretary for the Civil Service from October 2010 to May 2013 before being appointed to her current post.
