New term of membership for the new Privacy Commissioner’s team; Hospital Authority reshuffle.

Government announces new term of PDPC’s advisory body

The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau announced the membership of the new two-year term of Personal Data (Privacy) Advisory Committee, chaired by the new Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Stephen Wong Kai-yi (黃繼兒), with effect from October 1, 2015. IBM executive Cordelia Chung (鍾郝儀) and veteran journalist Stephen Loh Chan (羅燦) will replace the retiring Shirley Ha Suk-ling (夏淑玲) and Siu Sai-wo (蕭世和).

Adrian Yip to head Ping Wo Fund Advisory Committee

The Government appointed Adrian Yip Chun-to (葉振都) to chair the Ping Wo Fund Advisory Committee along with five new appointments and seven re-appointments to the committee for a two-year term. Yip, 47, is the managing director of Wing Hing Group and member of the Guangdong Province’s 10th CPPCC. He is also a member of the Independent Police Complaints Council since 2011 and is the former head of Hong Kong United Youth Association.

Yip will replace the outgoing chairman Yau Wing-kwong (邱榮光), appointed member of the Tai Po District Council. Yau also left the Land and Development Advisory Committee – which recently have Dr Eunice Mak Hoi-cheung (麥凱薔) as its new member – in July. He would likely spend more time on campaigning for the upcoming district council elections – as there is no more appointed member in DCs.

Senior posts reshuffle in Hospital Authority

The Hospital Authority appointed Dr Beatrice Cheng (鄭信恩), current Hospital Chief Executive of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) and Tai Po Hospital (TPH), as Hospital Chief Executive of Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals and Tung Wah Eastern Hospital upon the retirement Dr David Lam (林達賢). Dr Man Chi-yin (文志賢), the incumbent Hospital Chief Executive of North District Hospital, will replace Cheng.

The appointments will be put into effect on December 1, 2015.
