The MTR steward is set to leave following delays and over-budget of its key projects.
Stephen Law Cheuk-kin (羅卓堅), Financial Director and Member of the Executive Directorate at MTR Corporation since July, 2013, will not extend his contract with the railway powerhouse after the current one expires in July next year.
Law, 52, is also tasked to head the MTR Corp’s IT, investor relations, as well as stores departments. He joined the Corp when Jay Walder still served as its CEO. Walder stepped down in August, 2014, after being criticised for a series of over-budget of its key projects, including the high-speed rail link. While the Corp stated that there was no quarrel or fistfight before the break-up, it is hard not to connect Law’s departure to the over-budget scandals – considering the fact that he is the steward after all.
