Hong Kong and Macao, get ready to turn green.

Irish Consul General Peter Ryan announced the first Irish Festival in the two places – also in Asia – with a series of events spanning a period from March to early April.

“Our first Irish Festival is a really exciting opportunity for locals, expatriates and members of the Irish Community to experience, right here in Hong Kong, some of the things that make Ireland so unique,” Mr Ryan said.

Hundreds joined Hong Kong’s first St Patrick’s Day Parade last year.

Highlights include the St Patrick’s Day Parade on March 13, the Irish Film Festival in early April, as well as events to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising.
