The Consulate General of the Netherlands, led by Consul General Wilfred Mohr, hosted a cocktail reception at the CG’s residence in celebration of the country’s King’s Day on April 27.

Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen was the guest of honour. Distinguished guests from the business community included Robert Ng, Chairman of the Sino Group and CC Tung, CEO of Orient Overseas (International). The diplomatic circle, meanwhile, was represented by the French Consul General Eric Berti, Turkish Consul General Korhan Kemik, Japanese Consul General (Ambassador) Kuninori Matsuda, Belgian Consul General Michele Deneffe, and Polish Consul General Miroslaw Adamczyk.

During his speech, Mr Mohr highlighted an expanding trade relations and vibrant student exchange programmes between the Netherlands and Hong Kong. Our correspondent thinks the ‘low country’ certainly doesn’t need to share the Belt-and-Road high of the Hong Kong government.
