Spurned by Lancôme, musician and activist Denise Ho Wan-see took her party to the people with a free weekend concert. Didn’t attend? View our photos and share the experience.

Lancôme may not want Denise Ho Wan-see (何韻詩) to sing for them, but, as the popular musician and activist made clear on a hot Sunday afternoon, she is not about to let the cosmetics company’s recent cancellation of her promotional concert get her down.

Ho offered a free 19 June concert to her fans in Sheung Wan, and the streets were literally overflowing with supporters. Harbour Times’ photojournalist was on the scene, and now, through her lens, you can imagine you were too.

Denise Ho sings to a packed crowd outside the Sheung Wan cafe 3rd Space.
Ho invited audience members to sing with her using lyrics she posted on her Facebook profile.
Young and old joined the crowd, which filled Blake Garden and even stretched up the Upper Station Street staircase.
The basketball court was filled with people on the hot Sunday afternoon.
