Government appoints new director of planning
The government has appointed Raymond Lee Kai-wing (李啟榮), Deputy Director of Planning, as Director of Planning to replace Ling Kar-kan (凌嘉勤) who will proceed on pre-retirement leave.
Mr Lee joined the Government as Assistant Town Planner in May 1985 and was promoted to Chief Town Planner in March 2001, to Government Town Planner in May 2010 and to Principal Government Town Planner in June 2013. Lee will assume the new post on 22 November 2016.
Labour Advisory Board elects new labour representatives
The Labour Advisory Board has elected its five employee representatives for the new term. They are Lau Yuk-fai (劉玉輝), head of the Hong Kong Immigration Assistant Union, Tang Ka-piu (鄧家彪) of the Federation of Trade Unions, Secretary General of Hong Kong Storehouses, Transportation & Logistics Staff Association Chau Siu Chung (周小松), Secretary General of Hong Kong and Kowloon Trades Union Council Wong Siu Han (王少嫺) and deputy head of Hong Kong Civil Servants General Union Charles Chan Yiu Kwong (陳耀光)
Lau is first ever representative from the Disciplined Services in the board.
Appointment of Deputy Chairman to Business Facilitation Advisory Committee
The Government has announced the appointment of LegCo member Wong Ting-kwong (黃定光) as Deputy Chairman to the Business Facilitation Advisory Committee, succeeding Andrew Leung (梁君彥) who resigned from the position in mid-October 2016.
