New leadership for DPHK; Frederick Ma named head of EdUHK council.

Wu Chi-wai elected as Democratic Party’s new chairman

Wu Chi-wai (胡志偉) has been named the new chairman of the Democratic Party following an uncontested run, with Lo Kin-hei (羅健熙) and Li Wing-shing (李永成) as his vices.

Wu, the only sitting lawmaker among the three, has pledged to stop a second term for CY Leung and to use “all means and reasonable procedure” to stand against the otherwise unchecked government and the pro-establishment camp, citing filibustering as a possible option.

Frederick Ma named EdUHK Council Chairman

Frederick Ma Si-hang (馬時亨) has been appointed council chairman of the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) for a term of three years with effect from 25 April, 2017.

Ma is currently chairman of the MTR Corporation. He was Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury from 2002 to 2007 and then Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development between 2007 and 2008.
