7. Transport
7.1 Transport subsidy scheme
- Introduce a non‑means tested Public Transport Fare Subsidy Scheme to provide fare subsidy for commuters if their monthly public transport expenses exceed $400, with the government providing a subsidy amounting to 25% of the actual expenses in excess of this level, subject to a cap of $300 a month. Over 2 million commuters are expected to benefit from the scheme, which will cover the fares of MTR, franchised buses, green minibuses, ferries and trams.
7.2 Co-location arrangement
- The co-location arrangement is “the most practical and cost‑effective” option to realise the transport, social and economic benefits of the Guangzhou‑Shenzhen‑Hong Kong Express Rail Link
- A non-binding government motion is set for LegCo scrutiny on 25 October
7.3 Alleviating traffic congestion
- Make early preparation for the implementation of the Electronic Road Pricing Pilot Scheme in Central
- Introduce measures to increase parking spaces in various districts with priority given to commercial vehicles
