Belgium Beer Week in Hong Kong begins on 22nd August, marking the first time the festival leaves Belgium. The international festival celebrating Belgium’s rich beer history will see 11 participating bottle shops and bars around Hong Kong, making Hong Kong one of the biggest celebration sites in the word. Each venue will to host at least one special event, ranging from tastings, to workshops, discounts and more.“Belgium beer culture is recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This year we look forward to providing an amazing series of events showcasing this incredibly rich culture and making it more tangible for visitors” said Ahmed ElAmin, one of three festival organizers.
Belgian Beers Going International
Now in it’s third edition, this year’s festival held between 22nd Aug to 27th Aug also marks Belgium Beer Week’s first foray outside of its home market, with partners not only in Hong Kong, but internationally across Europe in the UK, Poland, Spain; South America in Brazil and Chile, and even in Mainland China with a ‘bus cinema’ and an open-air Belgian beer bar at 21 Block, Beijing!
“Belgium is a beer kingdom with long history of Beer Culture. We are glad that to be invited to join the Belgium Beer Week this year and spread the love of Belgium Beers” says Kenneth Ho, organizer for the Hong Kong branch of Belgium Beer Week.
