Italian business has taken the initiative to attract investment.

Hong Kong’s financial sector was briefed about a recovering Italy on 22 June as part of Borsa Italiana’s (the Italian Stock Exchange) 12th Italian Equity Roadshow in Asia. The public presentation, held on the premises of Assicurazioni Generali Spa, was co-hosted by the Consulate General of Italy.
“Attracting foreign investment can greatly contribute to the relaunch of the Italian economy. Italy is already a very attractive market: in 2015 Italy was the top destination of Chinese investments within continental Europe, and a large part of this flow of investments was routed through Hong Kong,” Antonello De Riu, the Consul General of Italy, said.
The presentation was led by Luca Peyrano, Manager Primary Markets Continental Europe of London Stock Exchange Group, who briefed over 60 fund managers, family offices representatives and asset management experts about Italy’s macroeconomic framework and rising investment opportunities.
