Senior appointments for FHB and ISD; HKEx chairman to lead advisory committee on expats policy; New Sham Shui Po District Officer assumes office.

Director of Information Services appointed as Permanent Sec for Food and Health

Patrick Nip Tak-kuen (聶德權) will take up the post of Permanent Secretary for Food and Health (Health) on 6 July. Nip is currently Director of Information Services since 2014. Before that he served as Director of Social Welfare from August 2009 to June 2013 and Director (Special Duties), Chief Secretary for Administration’s Private Office from June to December 2013.

Joe Wong Chi-cho (黃智祖), Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Communications and Creative Industries), will replace Nip as Director of Information Services on 6 July.


HKEx chairman tapped as head of advisory committee on expats policy

Chairman of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Chow Chung-kong (周松崗) has been tapped to lead the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals for a two-year term from 1 July.

The committee advises the Director of Immigration on applications received under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme and the Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals and will comprise 18 non-official members.


OGCIO assistant officer assumes office as Sham Shui Po District Officer

Damian Lee Kwok-hung (李國雄), Assistant Government Chief Information Officer (Strategy Development) of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, assumed the post of District Officer of Sham Shui Po on 27 June.

Lee succeeded Benjamin Mok Kwan-yu (莫君虞) who will take up advanced study abroad for a year.
