Lam Tai-fai to head Hong Kong Sports Institute; PR big gun joins COSH.
Former Industrial lawmaker named new head of Hong Kong Sports Institute
The government has appointed Lam Tai-fai (林大輝) as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited (HKSIL) with effect from 1 April, 2017. Lam will succeed current chairman Carlson Tong (唐家成), who is also chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
Lam is a former LegCo member representing the Industrial (Second) sector. During his tenure as a lawmaker Lai had criticised the government for lacking a comprehensive sports policy that can be incorporated with education policies.
Richard Tsang joins COSH
Richard Tsang Lap-ki (曾立基) has been appointed to the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health (COSH). The government has also announced the re-appointments of chairman Antonio Kwong Cho-shing (鄺祖盛), vice-chairman Yolanda Ng Yuen-ting (伍婉婷) and seven serving members all with effect from 1 October for a term of two years.
Tsang is chairman of PR firm Strategic Financial Relations Group.
