Two legislators join ExCo; Two former legislators to head Property Management Services Authority.

Tommy Cheung, Martin Liao appointed to Executive Council

CY Leung appointed on 25 November lawmakers Tommy Cheung (張宇人) of Liberal Party and independent Martin Liao (廖長江) as members of the Executive Council with immediate effect.

Liao is the new ‘coordinator’ of the pro-establishment camp in replace of DAB’s Ip Kwok-him (葉國謙), while Cheung is the first Liberal Party member to join the ExCo under Leung’s administration.

Civic Party elects new leadership

Alan Leong (梁家傑) has replaced Audrey Eu (余若薇) as Civic Party’s chairman while his colleague Alvin Yeung (楊岳橋) has assumed the role of party leader.

With a new leadership elected, Leong said the party has made a “pragmatic” decision to change their focus from campaigning for political reform to livelihood issues to win more “loyal electors” for future polls.

Former legislators to head Property Management Services Authority

The government has appointed Tony Tse Wai-chuen (謝偉銓) and Wong Kwok-hing (王國興) as chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the newly established Property Management Services Authority for a period of three years with effect from 1 December.

Both Tse and Wong are former legislators who lost in September’s LegCo elections.

Lam was the Director-Property of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Urban Renewal Authority and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators.

Kung is the Deputy Chief Executive of BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited and a member of the Standing Committee on Directorate Salaries and Conditions of Service, the Board of Ocean Park Corporation and the Board of Directors of the Community Chest of Hong Kong; an elected member of the General Committee and Chairman of the Banking & Financial Services Group of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong; and a member of the Finance Management Committee of the Hong Kong Management Association.
