Son of LegCo president appointed to Hong Kong Tourism Board
The government has announced the appointments of Clarence Leung Wang-ching and Alice Kwok Yim-ming as new members of the Hong Kong Tourism Board with effect for two years from 1 November, 2017, to 31 October, 2019.
Clarence Leung is son of LegCo president Andrew Leung. He is a director of the Leung’s family business Sun Hing Knitting Factory. Leung is also an advisor to the government’s Central Policy Unit. Alice Kwok, meanwhile, is Editor-in-Chief of the Hong Kong Economic Journal.
Head of CreateHK appointed
The government has announced the appointment of Victor Tsang Chiu-hok as the Head of Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) following the completion of an open recruitment exercise. Tsang will assume office on 1 November.
As the Executive Director of PMQ, he played an important role in the revitalisation of the heritage site into a vibrant creative hub. PMQ is one of Hong Kong’s tourist attractions where visitors can get a taste of the cultural and creative diversity of the city. He was the Principal of the Hong Kong Design Institute from 2007 to 2011.
Tsang joined the Vocational Training Council as the head of department responsible for developing new courses for film, animation, digital entertainment and creative media in 1995. Before that he was the Vice President (Operations) of two Hong Kong publicly listed printing groups.
