Government appoints two more political assistants

Carrie Lam has appointed two Political Assistants of the fifth term of the Hong Kong government. The newly appointed Political Assistants are the Political Assistant to the Financial Secretary, Ho Chui-ping, and the Political Assistant to the Secretary for Food and Health, Kelvin Cheng Sau-kong. Both of them will assume office on November 6.

Before joining the Government, Ho, aged 43, was Deputy Director of News and Public Affairs of Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Co. Ltd. She was previously the Chairperson of the Hong Kong News Executives’ Association. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Communication from the Hong Kong Baptist University.

Cheng, aged 38, works in the Hospital Authority as Manager in the Service Transformation Department before joining the Government, with responsibility for the planning and implementation of clinical public-private partnership programmes.  He holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Hong Kong.

 

Two new members to Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee

The new term of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Cultural Co-operation Committee (HKTCCC) has been appointed. Dr Fredric Mao continues to be the convenor of the HKTCCC. The tenure of the new term of the HKTCCC is from 1 November, 2017, to 31 December, 2019.

Two newly appointed members are David Lo, former Chairman of Hong Kong Designers Association, and Ng Cheuk-yin, renowned composer, sheng performer and a cappella singer in Hong Kong. Ng is also a member of the consultation panel of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.
