In October this year, ReThink HK — Hong Kong’s best attended and most ambitious business event for sustainable development — will be returning for a second time.
Co-organised by the Business Environment Council, the event seeks to bring together business leaders, sustainability practitioners, and nonprofits to answer how businesses can accelerate change towards a more sustainable future for Hong Kong. By uniting stakeholders and promoting cross-sector innovation and cooperation, ReThink 2021 aims to support the sustainable strategies and solutions required to achieve a carbon-neutral circular economy.
The two-day expo is scheduled to take place from 5-6 October, and will be split across five concurrent conference programs:
Sustainable Transformation Theatre
Sustainable Communities Theatre
Sustainable Resources Theatre
BEC Theatre
Change Makers Stage
The new five-program format represents a significant expansion from ReThink 2020, which hosted only 29 sessions compared to this year’s 61. Each program will feature unique keynote speakers, workshops, and interactive sessions.
Guest speakers and panellists include Mr Wong Kam-Sing (Hong Kong SAR Secretary for the Environment), Mr Robert Barker (Chief Sustainable Business Officer, BNP Paribas), and Ms Renee Chan (Customer Director, Watsons Hong Kong). As part of its emphasis on inclusivity and diversity of thinking, ReThink 2021 is committed to having no all-male panels.
In collaboration with the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, the conference will feature a EuroCham Pavilion where exhibitors can help foster cooperation and dialogue between Europe, Hong Kong, Macau, and the Greater Bay Area. ReThink 2021 is also partnering with Ocean3C to co-host the Hong Kong Ocean Economy Summit. The Summit will aim to discuss current issues and future opportunities related to sustainability in the ocean.
